Today I shipped something of my own again. BuzzWire is an Instagram DM automation tool that turns comments into customers without putting your account at risk. Built solo. This post is the launch story — and the first entry in a series where I’ll share every number as it grows.
After 18 years of building products for companies and advising other founders on growth, I kept giving everyone the same advice: pick one painful problem, ship small, iterate in public.
At some point the advice started sounding hollow. I hadn’t taken it myself in a while.
So I did. Today, buzzwire.io is live.

What is BuzzWire?
BuzzWire is a compliance-first Instagram DM automation tool. When someone comments a keyword on your post or replies to your story, it automatically sends them a personalized DM with your link, lead magnet, or booking page — built on Meta’s official API, so it converts engagement into sales without risking your account.
In plain words: it’s an Instagram auto-responder. Someone comments, BuzzWire auto-replies in the DM with the right link — every time, even while you sleep. The one-line promise on the homepage says it best: turn comments into customers — without risking your account.
In practice, that breaks down into four things:
- Comment-to-DM automation — keyword-triggered Instagram auto-replies on posts and reels.
- Story reply automation — separate keyword settings for stories.
- In-DM lead capture — collect emails right inside the conversation.
- Safety as the core feature — humanized pacing, message variation, rate caps, a one-DM-per-person 24-hour cooldown, and auto-pause monitoring.
The problem: creators lose sales in their comments
Watch any creator’s post that says “comment LINK and I’ll DM you.” Hundreds of comments pile up.
Then reality hits. The creator DMs the first twenty people by hand, gets busy, and the rest never hear back. Every missed reply is a lost sale, a lost email signup, a lost booking.
The existing fix is worse than the problem. Most DM automation tools run browser bots or scraping tricks against Instagram — fast, until Meta notices and the creator’s account (their entire business) gets restricted or banned.
That’s the gap BuzzWire lives in: automation that’s actually safe.
Is Instagram DM automation safe?
It depends entirely on how the tool works. Automation that uses browser bots or scraping violates Instagram’s terms and puts accounts at risk of restriction or bans. Automation built on Meta’s official API, with human-like sending behavior, is the compliant path — and that’s the only way BuzzWire operates.
I made safety the core feature, not a footnote, because for a creator the account is the business. No conversion rate justifies gambling with it.
How does BuzzWire compare to ManyChat?
ManyChat and BuzzWire are both official Meta API tools — the difference is scope and pricing. ManyChat is a full multi-channel chatbot suite whose Pro plan starts around $15/month and scales up as your contact list grows. BuzzWire does one job — Instagram comment-to-DM — with unlimited DMs free and a flat $9.99 Pro.
To be clear: ManyChat is a legitimate, Meta-approved platform, and for teams that want flow builders across Instagram, WhatsApp, SMS, and email, it’s a fine choice. My bet is different — most creators don’t want to build chatbot flows. They want one thing to work: comment comes in, link goes out, safely.
So if you’ve been searching for a simpler ManyChat alternative for Instagram specifically, that’s exactly the slot BuzzWire is built to fill.
| Gray-market bots | ManyChat & chatbot suites | BuzzWire | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta compliance | Browser bots / scraping — ban risk | Official API | Official API (verified Meta Tech Provider) |
| Scope | Varies | Multi-channel chatbot platform (IG, FB, WhatsApp, SMS, email) | Focused: Instagram comment-to-DM + story replies + lead capture |
| Setup | Risky workarounds | Flow builder — powerful, but a learning curve | Keyword in, DM out — minutes |
| Free tier | — | Up to ~1,000 contacts, and contacts accumulate | Unlimited DMs and automations |
| Paid pricing | Varies | Pro from ~$15/mo, rising with contact count | Flat $9.99/mo (or $79/yr) — locked for founding members |
| Built-in safety behavior | None | Compliant sending | Humanized pacing, message variation, 24-hour per-person cooldown, auto-pause |

How much does BuzzWire cost?
The free tier includes unlimited DMs and automations with all safety features. Pro is $9.99/month (or $79/year) and adds follower gating, CSV export, and branding removal. Founding members keep the $9.99/month price permanently.
The pricing is deliberate. Creators are drowning in $49/month tools. A generous free tier plus a $9.99 Pro is my bet that trust and volume beat margin at this stage.
Why this problem, and why me
Everything I write on this blog comes back to one idea: growth compounds when you close the loop between attention and action.
Creators have solved attention. A reel can reach a million people for free. What they haven’t solved is the boring middle step — getting the right link into the hands of everyone who raised theirs. That’s a conversion problem, and conversion problems are what I’ve worked on my whole career.
It’s also a deliberate solopreneur bet. No team, no funding, no permission. A focused tool, a real pain, a $9.99 price point, and distribution I have to earn. Exactly the kind of product I tell other founders to build.
And yes — I practice what I wrote in my AI growth stack post. BuzzWire is a one-person company that behaves like a bigger one because every repetitive job has a tool attached.
What happens next: numbers, in public
This is post #1 of the journey. From here on, I’ll publish regular updates with real numbers — signups, activation, revenue, churn, what worked, and what flopped.
I’ll be running BuzzWire’s growth exactly the way I run client work: one North Star metric, an ICE-scored experiment backlog, and a weekly loop. If you want the system itself, it’s all in the growth framework I’ve used for 18 years. BuzzWire is about to become its most public case study.
The promise: no vanity-metric theater. If a month is flat, you’ll read that it was flat — and what I’m changing.
Try it, break it, tell me
If you’re a creator who’s ever typed “comment LINK below” — or you advise one — I’d genuinely love for you to try BuzzWire and tell me where it falls short. Early users shape the roadmap, and founding-member pricing is locked for life.
Eighteen years in, shipping something of my own still feels like the first day. Let’s see where this goes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is BuzzWire?
BuzzWire (buzzwire.io) is an Instagram DM automation tool that turns comments into customers. When someone comments a keyword on a post or replies to a story, it automatically sends a personalized DM with a link, lead magnet, or booking page — using Meta’s official API rather than bots or scraping.
Is Instagram DM automation allowed by Instagram?
Yes — when it’s done through Meta’s official API by an approved provider. What’s not allowed is browser-bot automation and scraping, which is how many tools work and why accounts using them get banned. BuzzWire is a verified Meta Tech Provider and operates only through the official API.
How much does BuzzWire cost?
Free tier: unlimited DMs and automations with all safety features. Pro: $9.99/month or $79/year, adding follower gating, CSV export, and branding removal. Founding members keep $9.99/month for life.
Is BuzzWire a good ManyChat alternative?
If you only need Instagram, yes — that’s the exact use case. Both use Meta’s official API, so both are compliant. ManyChat is a multi-channel chatbot suite with flow builders and contact-based pricing (Pro from ~$15/month, rising as your list grows). BuzzWire is deliberately narrow — Instagram comment-to-DM, story replies, and lead capture — with unlimited DMs free and a flat $9.99/month Pro that doesn’t scale with your audience.
Is BuzzWire an Instagram auto-reply tool?
Yes. BuzzWire works as an Instagram auto-responder for comments and story replies: you set a keyword, and it automatically replies in the DM with your link or lead magnet. Unlike generic auto-reply bots, it runs on Meta’s official API with humanized pacing, so the automation doesn’t put your account at risk.
Who is BuzzWire for?
Creators and influencers who monetize Instagram — affiliate links, lead magnets, bookings, or email list growth. If you’ve ever posted “comment LINK and I’ll DM you,” BuzzWire automates the part you can’t keep up with by hand.
Who built BuzzWire?
Me — Ranjeet Vimal, solo. I’m a startup founder and growth consultant with 18 years of product-building experience, and I’m documenting BuzzWire’s growth in public on this blog.
